Yes, that's it! The show is more about the character development than anything else. Before watching Merlin, I can honestly say I'd never have thought of King Arthur as a young lad, constantly taking the piss out of his manservant and/or taking pleasure out of putting him in the stocks. It just makes him so human. Adore all the characters. And I love the script too, often cheesy, but it makes me giggle and smile all the same.
Re the story: Beautiful. Soft and slow and just so very nice. Merlin really has changed Arthur so much. Loved it!
